The EU published a new initiative on imports of organic products – list of recognised control authorities and control bodies. The EU currently imports organic products that have been certified by control authorities/bodies whose standards are recognised as equivalent to rules set out in the repealed EU legislation on organics. This recognition expires on 31 December 2024.
This initiative sets out the list of control authorities/bodies that can certify operators and groups of operators in non-EU countries who intend to import organic products into the EU in compliance with the new EU legislation on organics.
The Commission has received and examined, in accordance with Article 1 of Delegated Regulation (EU) 2021/1698, the requests for recognition from ‘CCPB srl’, ‘Control Union Certifications B.V.’, ‘Ecocert SAS’, ‘Servicio de Certificación CAAE S.L.U.’ and ‘Tse-Xin Organic Certification Corporation’. Based on the information contained in their technical dossiers, the Commission has concluded that it is justified to recognise, for an indefinite duration, those control bodies for certain product categories in certain third countries.
