Official controls: Commission initiative includes nuts and other seeds to be controlled at border control posts when containing ingredients of animal origin

The Commission has published an initiative amending the list of products of animal origin subject to official controls at border control posts, including their codes from the Combined Nomenclature.

Edible products falling under the following customs (CN) codes that must be controlled at border control posts when they contain products of animal origin. Among the products, code 2008 19 (Nuts and other seeds, other than groundnuts, whether or not mixed together.) is included.

The deadline for feedback is 3 February 2026.
