European Parliament Committees to hold a Public hearing on ‘Simplifying EU rules on food and feed safety’

On 2 September 2026, the EU Parliament Committees for the environment (ENVI) and agriculture (AGRI) will hold joint a joint hearing on simplifying EU rules on Food and Feed Safety. The hearing supports the Committees’ work on the food and feed safety omnibus.

The joint hearing will bring together stakeholders from various sectors reflecting the wide scope of the omnibus, presenting the scientific perspective as well as practitioners’ views on implementation. Expert presentations will be followed by Q&A sessions with Members of the European Parliament.

Additionally, there will be Remarks by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and Remarks by the European Commission.
