THE AMFORI CONFERENCE ON SOCIAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY, 18-19 JUNE 2019

In keeping with FRUCOM members’ interest in sustainability issues, FRUCOM attended the annual event of amfori. amfori is the trade association focused on trade policies and on social and environmental sustainability certification: amfori BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative), amfori BEPI (Business Environmental Performance Initiative) https://www.amfori.org/content/amfori-bsci

It has 2414 members in 44 countries representing 1.5 trillion trade volume, and positions itself as the global leader in sustainability certification.

The amfori BSCI platform provides a single point for all supply chain performance information, allowing buyers to manage their risk and to consistently monitor their supply chain. It is supplemented by Auditing Integrity Programme and sustainability intelligence dashboard.

Among +/- 250 attendees several CSR key people from retail chains were present (Metro, Ahold, Lidl, etc).
